Or I would if it was working. I don't have anything to do with books to post, since I've been spending all day avoiding reading. Instead, the other obsession - music. A guy from work told me about Pandora.com - it's a site that allows you to make radio stations based on your musical preferences. If you hate the song, you give it the hands down and it's never played again. If you like it, thumbs up and the magical little bunnies at Pandora 'learn' and add other artists and songs based on your opinions. It's one of my new favorite things.
And the other, which is courtesy of the same guy: Kings of Leon. Who said sexy young things never come from Tennessee? These guys apparently lived in my hometown for five years. They, of course, got smart and moved away. Watch the video for Sex on Fire, which they performed on SNL.

-pandora.com ...sounds pretty cool. But I could never give up the books. There's not enough time for reading as it is.I haven't started The Painted Bird yet (I better get crackin- I'm a little hesitant after all the talk of beastiality, etc.)however, I am about half way through The Gravedigger's Daughter by Joyce Carole Oates. That chick is weird, but I think I'm enjoying the book. Also in the line up are: The perks of being a wallflower (Thanks for the recommendation Mary), The Bright Forever by Lee Martin (a Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Fiction), and The Gathering by Anne Enright(Booker Prize 2007). Maybe I'll propose one of these for the next Book Club read. I also have a list of books I think I want to read someday. It's constantly changing as I find out positives or negatives about each book. I'll share it in it's lastest permutation on the 25th. Oh yeah sexy come from Tennessee: Kings of Lean, May B. AND AL GORE! That's what I'm talkin bout!
Ah, the Booker, I love it, and I have been wondering about The Gathering. Paperback yet?
Unfortunately, I didn't buy any apple pie today but my mom is making peach cobbler, choco-pb cookies, and apple pie tonight. We'll see if any of it makes it to work tomorrow!
Have tissues handy when you read Perks. That includes you, Steve Shriver.
Yhe cobbler was delicious!!!!Thank you Mama Baker. And yes, The Gathering is in paperback. (the cookies were wonderful too.)
