Let's do 4:00 again. Did you read the book?
Hey Nicole if you haven't read it yet proceed with caution. It's everything Susan said it was and soooo much more. 4:00 sounds good to me too.
oh, i'm reading it...it just keeps getting better and better. i for one am glad we chose this book.
Do I detect a tiny note of sarcasm Nicole? As for me, I would recommend this book (to Nazi- loving sadists) Oh...is that too harsh?
actually, there was no sarcasm in my note (i know it is just expected of me, but not this time!). the book is something different and i'm glad we are reading it. clearly, if a person can't handle reading about the horrible things that people do to each other, then don't read it - and I actually think its quite tame compared to some things i've heard out of the mouths of kids i used to work with in Phx. kids living in america, in a supposedly educated society, and not trying to survive nazis and war.
I didn't read it (because I am one of those people that doesn't want those images in my head) but at least it's got us talking. It's funny to me that we are all friends yet we have such very different views on things. Has anyone researched the biography of Kosignski yet?
Sorry I misread your intent Nicole. I just find it hard to believe that any of the stuff in this book is anything but a figment of a very disturbed(or drunk)imagination. According to this author,war-time Poland was little more than an insane assylum. No wonder the Polish people found the book objectionable. But I want to save this for the book club. ELD stresses me out...does it show?
