The next meeting is set for February 27th. 4 o'clock at Pete's Pizza again.
We are reading Little Stranger by Sarah Waters, which is only in hardback in the US, but there are cheap copies for about $10 on Amazon.com.

Sorry guys, I thought it was available in paperback. It will be, but not until May.
I think you can still get a UK paperback from Powells.com. No problem.
And forget about the library - there are 107 holds for it. I am going to order one online next week for sure. I'm excited to read this one.
Christine - thanks, I now have 'ooh la la' and 'fee da da dee' stuck in my head. (:
My copy is in the mail.
I got my copy yesterday in the mail (B&N) and i am excited. After our last meeting, i went to the bookstore, forgot which book we were reading and picked up Waters' latest book (in paperback) thinking that was the book we had picked. Obviously I was wrong, but it was a happy mistake as The Night Watch was quite good. Looking forward to reading The Little Stranger as a followup.
I picked up another book by S.Waters (Affinity)and really enjoyed it. My copy of The Little Stranger (16.00 including shipping from Amazon) came this week...can't wait to get started on it.
My copy got canceled ): so I am waiting on a cheaper one from Powell's in Portland. Seems like lots of us are reading this one. Yay.
I was able to slip in under the wire and get a hard copy from the library (albeit large print, which of course elicited sarcastic remarks from Trevor about my advanced age, the bastard -- LOL). I'm hoping we actually get to discuss this one as it was pretty interesting.
I didn't recognize Sarah Waters' name at first, but once I started looking at her bibliography I realized I'd seen several of the movies that are based on her novels, and they were quite good. I will definitely have to go back and check out the other novels, as I like her writing style.
Steve read the large print too, heehee.
I'm on page 200. Think I can make it?
I haven't even started! Yikes. I was scheduled to go out of town but just cancelled the trip - I'll be there - I guess I'll be spending all my time between now and 4pm Saturday reading!
Finally finished. I am curious to hear opinions on who the little stranger was. See everyone tomorrow!
