We are meeting at 4pm on Saturday at The Coffee Garden to discuss "A Visit From the Goon Squad" by Jennifer Egan. And other stuff. Hope to see you there--it's been awhile! :D

A Visit From the Good Squad by Jennifer Egan

Thanks to Ellyn for hosting a lovely book club. We decided not to meet in December, as people will busy preparing for the holidays. We will discuss "A Visit From the Goon Squad" sometime and somewhere in January, specifics to be determined when it gets closer.

It was nice seeing some of you at Coffee Garden today. We did not discuss the book, however, so we're going to try again on Saturday, November 5th. We are thinking about having the meeting in Citrus Heights, possibly at Ellyn's. More details to follow, hope to see everyone in a few weeks :)

Abe Lincoln, Vamp Hunter

So, the next book is Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, just a little bit late.
How about September 24th for the meeting? I'm reading the book right now and really enjoying it. Yes, it sounds goofy, but is quite entertaining and well-researched.

Finally

So, how about next Saturday for our belated meeting? August 6th, Coffee Garden , 4:00. Hunger Games is the book!

Ok, let's do June 18th. Hope everybody can make it!

No May meeting, because 3 of us will be in Denver, but we have picked the books for the next two meetings.

June - Zeitoun by Dave Eggers
July - Kindred by Octavia Butler

Hopefully,both of these will give us lots to talk about. I've already read Kindred and it should spark some serious discussion!
